Youth In Government Day 2018

The City of Pleasanton and Pleasanton Unified School District(PUSD) will be hosting the 2018 Youth In Government Day on Tuesday, March 27th from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to hear from Pleasanton’s leaders and shadow the staff that makes Pleasanton one of the best places to live. Applications are available now at bit.ly/yig2018 , the school admin offices or Ptownlife.org. Applications are due Tuesday, February 27th.

Students will begin the day at the Firehouse Arts Center with a continental breakfast and hear from City Manager, Nelson Fialho, Pleasanton Mayor Jerry Thorne and the Interim PUSD Superintendent David Haglund. Through two sessions separated by a catered networking lunch, students will have the opportunity to shadow two different City or PUSD department staff members.

Job shadows may include City Manager, School Administrators, Operations Service Center, Police Department, Fire Department, Community Services, Human Resources, Library Services, Civic Arts, City Planning, Information Technology, Business Services, and more (Shadows are subject to availability).
