The Callippe Preserve Trail consists of a 3.75 mile long loop around the Callippe Preserve Municipal Golf Course. Around the golf course includes 280 acres of permanent open space, of which 173 are under City ownership. This trail has easy access through the City-owned land and offers spectacular views of the outlying Tri-Valley Area and the golf course.
This trail is open to pedestrians and equestrians. No bicycles are allowed. No overnight camping is allowed. Any disturbance of plant and animal life is prohibited.

- Plants include: coast live oak, valley oak, blue oak, buckeye trees, wildflowers (California violet, narrow leaf sunflower, mallow, buttercup, native milkweed, fiddleneck, California poppy), blue eyed grass, yarrow, wavy-leaved soap plant
- Mammals include: deer, gray fox
- Reptiles/Amphibians include: California tiger salamander, red-legged frog
- Birds include: wild turkey, golden eagles, red-tailed hawks, great horned owl, American kestrel, western meadowlark, scrub jay, California quail, red-shouldered hawk, yellow-billed magpie, red-winged blackbirds, bluebirds (can be seen nesting about six months of the year)
- Insects include: Callippe Silverspot Butterfly (an endangered species)
