- On October 26, 2018, the two high school rivals, Amador and Foothill, face off in their last league game of the season. This is THE game to go to since there will be student spirit, lots of food, and, of course, the Amador Valley Band.
The Amador Valley Band is no doubt the highlight of the game. They take the field with grace, marching in unison as the students cheer on from the Purple Pit. This performance has taken weeks of blood, sweat, and tears. The band’s Senior Drum Major explains that they rehearse a lot: “Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from 4-7pm, with a competition this Saturday” showcasing their hard work to the student body.
Maggie, a flute player in the band, is enthusiastic and “looking forward to playing, not so much the game.” Honestly, I don’t know how many students will actually be watching the game, since Maggie, along with the majority of the student body just “doesn’t get football.”
Hiya, another flute player, has currently “not been preparing, but is going to practice” showing how this event is somewhat low stress since the Amador Valley Band is so amazing and used to high stakes performances such as these. Hiya also explains that the band is “performing the show Intertwined,” so be sure to come out, watch some football, cheer on Amador, and enjoy the halftime performance! No Records Found
