The City of Pleasanton is currently accepting applications for the Ptownlife.org Web Team, open to all Pleasanton residents entering grades 8 through 12 in the fall of 2017. This website serves as the key communication link between the city and its residents, and provides information about local news, activities, job and volunteer opportunities, and services.
The web team is comprised of Pleasanton teens who work with the city staff to guide its design and content and assist with the overall management and marketing of the site. Students have the opportunity to take on various roles. They are able to write articles about events, coordinate with local organizations and schools to promote events, report on interesting things happening within the community, take photos, improve their journalism skills, and gain valuable work experience along the way.
Students who are interested must be willing to commit to:
– A one-year term, spanning the 2017-2018 school year
– Spending a minimum of 1.5 hours a week working in the city office
– Attending two mandatory training sessions, scheduled in August 2017 and January 2018 (dates TBD)Applications are now open and are due on Friday, May 5, 2017. Applications can be found here: https://www.ptownlife.org/contributing-ptownlife/.
