Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Fundraiser

Dear fellow Pleasanton residents,

I’m very excited to share with you that I am part of the 2017 Student of the Year campaign and

over the next seven weeks, I will be working to raise money and awareness for The Leukemia

& Lymphoma Society (LLS) and their mission to cure for blood cancers.

It’s an honor to be a part of such an outstanding group of fellow students, but an even larger

honor to be able to work for the patients, survivors and their families. I am fundraising in honor

of the Boy & Girl of the Year, James (17) & Nomi (13) – local blood cancer heroes. James was

diagnosed at age 11 with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. After spending months in & out of the

hospital, he received his last treatment in May of 2016, and thanks in-part to LLS he is now a

healthy 17-year old.

LLS’s work is changing the lives of 1.2 million Americans living with a blood cancer, just like

My personal goal is to raise $5000 between March 23rd and May 12th.

It’s a lofty goal, but I am willing to work hard to reach it. I cannot do it alone, I need your help.

Not only is this campaign a great way to support LLS and their life-saving work, but it’s a great

leadership opportunity for me. Students receive scholarships based on our fundraising and

awareness efforts. I am so excited to be able to make a difference in my community in this way.
