Welcome back to Dear You, an advice column with a twist: instead of a newsletter giving advice to you, you give advice to the newsletter.
It’s finally December, and that means winter break is just weeks away! With winter break AND the holidays coming up, it means it’s time to get into the holiday spirit!
Unfortunately, it is a busy time. With the end of the semester approaching for those in school, and trying to squeeze in time off for quality family time during the holidays, there are a lot of other things to think about.
So how can I get into the holiday spirit despite the stress of busy times up ahead, and what are some fun things I should do this December? Today, I have asked YOU guys for some tips and tricks on going from stressfully shedding tears to gleefully spreading cheeerrrrr!!
Clair: “I decorate my house. Personally, we celebrate Christmas so with a Christmas tree and a wreath. I drink hot chocolate every day religiously and I listen to holiday music. Are we Christian? No. But, we want to fit in.”
Maggie: “I watch a lot of cheesy Christmas movies: The Grinch, I’ve seen Elf, the Polar Express, etc. But there are a lot of good cheesy Christmas movies out there if you look them up.”
Ella: “When I do my homework, I’ll put on Christmas music so I do my homework while listening and it gets me into a happy mood”
Hayley: “Besides the tree in the living room I also got small Christmas decorations on my desk”
VS: “Other than not always studying for finals, I like to listen to music, specifically holiday music. Google has a Santa tracker and I like to go on that even though I’m 17 just for fun. I spend more time on YouTube”
Simoni: “Even though it’s stressful we do Secret Santa with our friends to lighten the mood, I decorate the tree, listen to Christmas music, put up the lights.”

Isaac: “There’s nothing that gets me more juiced about Christmas than egg nog and all the lit Christmas parties”
