Biography: Parks and Recreation

Hi! My name is Arman Abrishamchian and I am a youth commissioner on the Parks and

Recreation commission. I go to Foothill high School and I am interested in government and

politics. As a youth commissioner, I represent the youth on issues related to Parks and

Recreation. My input is taken into account by the staff and commission to make decisions

pertaining to our town. I really like being on the Parks and Recreation commission because the

ideas we discuss affect the entire city in the ways people participate in the community, have fun,

and spend their time.

As a Parks and Recreation commissioner, I’m proud to say that Pleasanton has some of the most

pristine parks in the United States. There are recreation programs that allows kids and adults of

all ages to learn, explore, and have fun. The commission has led the planning and construction of

the Bernal Community Park as well as the Iron Horse Trail in recent years. The Parks and

Recreation Commission may be one of the most important commissions in the city government

because of its massive effects on the day-to-day lives of the residents of this great town.
