Raging fires are rising all throughout California. With powerful fires currently ravaging Southern California, 2017 has definitely been a bad case of flames, and more than ever are we in need of supporters to aid us against in the cause. The Livermore- Pleasanton Fire Training Center is looking for recruits for training to help fight the flames. Training happens every 2nd and 4th Sunday of a month as well as a full day and every Thursday at one of the 10 Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Stations. Trainees will learn first hand medical and firefighting experience from real firefighters.
TRAINING HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:
Engine/Truck Familiarization
Hose Pulls and Ladder Throws
SCBA Donning and Doffing
Search and Rescue
Auto Extrication
Rope Rescue
Saws/Ventilation
EMS
Specialty Classes: Hazmat FRO, Confined
Space Awareness, LARROThere are also many non-firefighting opportunities, such as working with the work with the LPFD on Public Relation events (“Fill The Boot”, “Toys for Tots”, “Hook’n Ladder Run”, “Fire Safety Expo”, etc. ).
The Livermore- Pleasanton Fire Explorers Post #933 was founded by Captain Jorge DellaSanta in 1999. Their goal is to lead the youth of today to become the firefighters of tomorrow. It is a great head start to a firefighting career. In addition, they look for pride, dedication, seriousness, commitment, and attendance in from candidates ranging from 6-21 years old. Come into the action and help stop the fires.
