- From Arnav Singh, News Team ContributorYou might have known that July 19, 2019 marked the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission, which put the first man on the moon. It was a great time to explore the past accomplishments of space travel, but it also made us wonder what the future holds.Technology has become much more advanced than it was 50 years ago. There is more computing power in our phones than what NASA had available to them for the Apollo 11 mission. However, where would we put another human? Luckily, the experts at NASA are planning to send humans to Mars in the 2030s. There will be a few missions before that to help plan out how hospitable Mars is and to prepare Mars for human interaction. However, before putting humans on Mars, NASA will put the first woman on the moon in 2024, along with other astronauts. It will happen on the Artemis III mission. It will be the first time that anyone has gone to the moon since 1972, and with our powerful technology and understanding of the solar system, we can learn so much more about our moon and solar system. One day we might be colonizing planets and observing things we never thought possible. Our universe is so marvelous and mysterious, but for now, we can look to the upcoming future to see the next leap in mankind’s journey.
