A Bird's Eye View Around the World with Webcams

Despite a resurgence in vacations this season, quarantine is still going on, and many trips are being cancelled or postponed due to health concerns. To help break the unbearable monotonous cycle of staying home every day, I’ve gone ahead and compiled a list of webcams from all over the world.

Now, what are webcams, you ask? Webcams are basically videos of places, but there doesn’t need to be anything interesting going on. Instead, these live videos work as windows into a place that isn’t your own, depicting anything from animal shelters to random windows.

SF SPCA streams are located at https://www.sfspca.org/adoptions/live-cams/.

https://nationalzoo.si.edu/webcams/panda-cam includes a giant panda cam from the Smithsonian’s National Zoo as well as other animals on this site.

https://www.vanaqua.org/visit/live-cams-sea-otter-cam contains streams of sea otters from the Vancouver Aquarium.

https://www.africam.com/wildlife/ holds videos from the area around an African wildlife preserve.

Fun Stuff

http://www.willardghost.com/?content=home shows the footage from set up cameras for keeping watch of a rumored ghost in this library and is an extremely interactive site.

https://www.gotahoenorth.com/webcams/ maintains streams from Lake Tahoe cams.

https://www.abbeyroad.com/crossing is the Abbey Road crossing cam and you can watch tourists recreate the iconic Beatles album cover picture.
