With the Coronavirus spreading rapidly across the U.S., we are forced to remain inside our homes. Since we’ll be staying inside for the next few weeks, this can often lead to boredom. However, with the help of technology, you can visit some of the most famous museums all from the safety of your couch.
1. The Metropolitan Museum of Art
Located in New York, this museum showcases over 2 million pieces of art. An award-winning short video series called the Met 360 project provides the opportunity to immerse oneself in the architecture of the museum, as well as some famous pieces of art. Their online collection also houses artwork from Vincent van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and Giotto di Bondone.2. The Louvre
The Louvre is currently closed, but even if it was open, you don’t have to travel all the way to France to see some of the wonders it holds. It’s free online tours consist of Egyptian artifacts and works of art by Michelangelo. As well as the artwork, they also provide extensive history and background on the artifacts and paintings.3. Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History
For those who aren’t really into art, the Smithsonian is a wonderful way to explore exhibits relating to science. An online virtual tour offers a view of the entire grounds.
