Ah, October. The leaves are changing colors and are satisfyingly crunchy, the weather begins to chill, and the Halloween stock market skyrockets. In my opinion, October takes the cake for the Coolest. Month. Ever. Here’s why.
You already knew this was coming. Halloween is my favorite time of the year: free candy, scary and frankly realistic decorations on all the houses, and of course, getting to dress up and be someone you’re not. (That is ONLY advertised on Halloween.)
2) The weather
Now, I don’t know about you, but I LOVE chilly weather. Not, like, 45 degrees and windy like it has been every morning, but a nice pleasant 65 and sunny is one of the great things that October has to offer.
3) Pumpkin, everywhere
I don’t know if you have ever realized the sheer amount of pumpkins to be seen in October. PSL, Safeway’s pumpkin…everything, actual pumpkin that I will attempt–and fail–to make scary. There are even synthetic pumpkins (you know, the ones you can put all your candy in when trick-or-treating!). *Realization light bulbs go off*
4) Going Shopping
I am a frantic shopper already, so you can probably imagine how I shop in October. Fall candles, little leaf wreaths that we will probably use once, scarves I will never wear…I want it all. And just the thought of walking into Bath and Body Works and sniffing every single fall-themed product (and washing my hands with every single soap at the sink) makes me literally so happy.
5) The TV
Hocus Pocus, Halloween Town, and The Nightmare Before Christmas (my favorite) are all iconic movies that just about happen to pop up on every channel in October–which means my self restraint is really struggling between homework and TV. (In case my parents are reading this, I chose homework).
And there you have it: 5 ways in which October is the best month ever! Whether you’re born in October (happy belated birthday!) or are for some reason in a heated debate about which month is the greatest, we got you fam.
(And also: happy belated Halloween!!)
