Unity Day Contest Winners

October 25th, 2017 was Unity Day, a day in which people were kind and caring (more so than usual) for the people around them. PtownLife’s Unity Day challenge for Pleasanton was simple — to finish the sentence “My act of kindness is…”, whether in words, or more commonly, drawings. Out of over 50 submissions, we were forced to choose two winners, and those winners are… (drum roll please)

Ryan Ng and Sahana Balaji! See their acts of kindness in the attached pictures above.

Ryan’s act of kindness showed someone opening a door and holding an umbrella for someone else. We thought that this was a chivalrous and considerate act because we’ve all had rainy days where we forgot our umbrellas and someone sharing their’s with us put a smile on our face.

Sahana’s act of kindness was encouraging people when they are sad. This struck a chord with us, since a little bit of encouragement during hard times can go a long way.
