City of Pleasanton Mayor & City Council

The Pleasanton City Council is the legislative and policy-making branch of our community’s government. The primary responsibilities of the Mayor and the four City Councilmembers (collectively referred to as the City Council) are to enact local laws (ordinances), set policy, approve programs, appropriate funds, establish local taxes and benefit assessments, generally supervise the operations of city government and provide residents with an attractive and healthy place to live. Pleasanton Unfied School District Board of Trustees

The school board is comprised of five elected officials who develop and set policies for the district, which are then implemented by the Superintendent and the administrative team. School board members are elected for a four-year term of office.

Alameda County Supervisor

Residents of Alameda County are represented by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors.  The County is divided into five districts.  Pleasanton is in District 4 and is represented by Supervisor Nate Miley. Supervisors serve for four-year terms.
